The 5 Best Anime Openings – Spring 2018

I’ve been busy with other stuff right now. So to make things up I will start my first ever Top 5 Best Anime Openings for Spring 2018! There will be some honorable mentions since this is a close race. Let’s start!

#5 Distance – Hinamatsuri

Coming from Studio feel., it reminds me of the opening of Oregairu Season 2. Though the video above doesn’t show the actual opening, the music has somewhat the same atmosphere of it. If you were able to watch the anime you could understand what I’m talking about.

#4 Fiction – Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii

This opening is one of those songs you want to start your day right. Waking up, prepare for work, you know the drill. If only I had someone to recreate the hand dance in the opening…

#3 Winding Road – Golden Kamuy

Man With A Mission is one of my favorite artists out there. Having them do another opening is a good thing in my book. Even if it’s not as hype from past songs such as “Raise Your Flag” or “My Hero”, you still know it’s them. Fact: The full version is available to stream on Spotify.

#2 Binary Star – Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These – Kaikou

Ginga Eiyuu Dentsetsu’s OST is one of the strong points this series has. For a sci-fi who knew that orchestral music sound great for a series that was published in the 1980s. It blends so well with today’s anime music.

#1 Bite – Megalo Box

This has one of the best chorus I’ve heard in a while. Using J-rock in anime as an opening is an unlikely combination yet it stood out from most songs. The start of the song makes you want to keep up to the beat. Like Winding Road, this one is available on Spotify too!

Honorable Mention: SWITCH – High School DxD Hero

Knowing that a series like this getting a Season 4 is a blessing. If you’re familiar with anime such as High School DxD, it takes you back. It goes to show that people are still into these kinds of shows.

Honorable Mention: Asphyxia – Tokyo Ghoul:re

I have to admit that I never caught up with this series. My interest was lost after Season 2 and didn’t went back. But listening to this song has brought back my attention for now. It’s better than Season 2’s opening.

Looking back, it’s great to see that more and more anime songs are becoming more accessible these days. The love of anime keeps on giving. Be on the look out to my 5 Best Anime Endings!
