An Editor’s List: Watching and Dropped Shows

A cup of coffee anyone?

We’re now halfway through Spring 2018 and it was able to deliver. There are shows that still have it rough, but that’s not the case for some. Although next season I will be a bit inactive since there’s not that much to look forward to. This list will include leftovers from Winter 2018 just to have more variety.

Watching

1. Megalo Box – Fridays would never be the same because of this. It’s one of those shows you can still enjoy on a binge-watch.
2. Golden Kamuy – Comfy eating in the wilderness to intense action. What more could you ask for? All the villains here are even great to watch.
3. Rokuhoudou Yotsuiro Biyori – Speaking of comfy, this one can make up your stressful day. There’s some drama here and there and that’s part of the experience.
4. Darling in the FranXX – I initially didn’t watch it at first because of how it looks and its characters. But after binge-watching it, the world building is good and the characters are just part in the grand scheme of things.
5. Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online – It doesn’t take itself too seriously. And that’s okay. This spin-off is simply fun to watch.
6. Hinamatsuri – You can either laugh so hard or cry a river here. The timing on their comedy is on point. However it seems to suffer on faster pacing in recent episodes.
7. Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii – There’s so many references in this anime. Not sure if I could see all of them. The good thing is every couple here knows how to get along without any misunderstandings.
8. Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These – Kaikou – A genuine sci-fi anime that is engaging. This genre is severely lacking in recent years and this was able to fill the gap.
9. High School DxD Hero – Back to the usual guy gets his own harem and more girls joining in. On its fourth season, it’s more on the action now than the ecchi elements. Since the recent arc just ended it may go back to what it’s known for.

Dropped

1. Mahou Shoujo Site – I tried to give this a chance but I’m not sure what it’s aiming for. All the psychological stuff is unintentionally becoming a joke already.
2. Gurazeni – Dropped it at the first episode alone. Things got really boring so fast here.

After this season ends, I may post something different for once. It depends on my mood when the time comes. I’m already feeling the slow burn after two stacked seasons this year.
