Take 2. Summer 2020 is going to be a recovery period for most of us out there. While the succeeding seasons is going to consist of many readjustments, at least it’s going to give. I do wonder what if the seasons were going to schedule as originally planned… It would be nice to see how it would work out. Instead, this happened. We should be grateful that they’re still going to be new anime coming.
Deca-Dence
It’s going to be expected that this anime will be compared to one or other popular series with the exact same premise. Only difference is the setting and the characters. Humanity on the brink of extinction? Wow, it’s the first time I’ve heard that. Not. I would still see it as its own body of work since it suggests it will be doing its own thing.
The God of High School
The premise isn’t what drew me in though, it’s the quality fights the series is going to bring. This would also mark the first time I’ll be watching an anime based on a webtoon too. I can’t unsee it doesn’t look any different to your typical shounen anime though. Well, bring more variety I guess.

Continuing / Returning Anime
- Fruits Basket 2nd Season – I think this is the part it’s going to cover way past the original adaptation and I need to be prepared. Also, Akito really needs to listen to Tohru. The person is the definition of having a literal god complex. There’s still more that will be coming.
- Appare-Ranman! – For some reason after three episodes it doesn’t seem to be talked about. Am I the only one here looking forward to it coming back? Let’s wait and see.
- The Millionaire Detective โ Balance: Unlimited – Daisuke will be back spending so much money like it’s a normal day. More detective shenanigans in-bound!

I am looking forward to Fruits Basket, for sure. The others look quite interesting as well. I have to admit, I’ve kind of quit looking forward to Summer season since so much of the headlines I’m getting is all about what is delayed. Good to see some joy and gratitude towards what we do have to enjoy!

I’m also looking forward to the return of Appare-Ranman. What it has already is a pretty solid foundation in both comedy and adventure.
What do you think of Gibiate? They’re putting out an anime about a virus wrecking Japan during a time of virus panic…

I didnโt even know an anime like Gibiate is going to air. It might be heavily toned down butchering the show in the process. Seeing the visuals alone doesnโt grab my attention even if itโs about a virus. But hey, someone is willing to take the risk and it is unfortunate that itโs going to come out soon.

I remember seeing a comment that they were trying to get it out in this summer slot /despite/ the virus. I was fairly sure that comment was on Anime News Network, but I’ve been digging around and can’t seem to find it…(maybe I didn’t check thoroughly enough?)
The character designs were done by Yoshitaka Amano (he of Vampire Hunter D, Wicked City and Final Fantasy), which is why they look so distinctive.
